Description
During January, the sun rises behind Downtown Houston if you are positioned strategically west of the it. In this case, I set me gear on the Studemont Bridge, over Memorial Drive and Buffalo Bayou, and armed with a strong neutral density filter I was able to capture the movement of the clouds. My main objective was to capture the colorful sunrise behind the buildings, but the weather didn't cooperate, hence the conversion to Black and White and the use of the ND filter. For long exposures such as this one, the camera must be standing on a sturdy tripod so it doesn't move at all.
