Description
Behold Lafayette Square, the second oldest park in New Orleans, after City Park. Designed in 1788 by Don Carlos Trudeau, the general surveyor of Louisiana under the Spanish Government. Named after the Marquis of La Fayette, the square features statues of Henry Clay in the center of the park, and of John McDonogh and Benjamin Franklin on St. Charles Avenue and Camp Street.
After having done some long exposure shooting in the Loyola University area during the twilight hour, I drove east On St. Charles with the image of Jackson Square in my mind when I came across urban park. The golden hour light reflected on the stunning architecture definitely caught my attention and decided to pull over for a few minutes to capture this beauty. Thanks for looking.
