Description
On Summer nights leading to the Summer Solstice on June 21st, the Sun sets at around 9:10 PM in Seattle, which lies at latitude 47; (the closer you are to the Poles the later the sun sets at a Northwest angle). In order for me to make this image, I had to wait until well past sunset, so the luminosity of the sky could be tamed naturally.
Jose Rizal Park lies south of downtown Seattle, and it affords a magnifcent view of Safeco and Century Link fields, home of the Seahawks and the Mariners respectively, the Olympic Mountains and Puget Sound, the main highway corridors and downtown itself. Making this image was quite a challenge, as there is a fence surrounding the park. Other photographers, (not me!) have taken to cutting openings in the fence so they could have unobstructed views.) Also, I had to strategically extend my tripod head with the panoramic attachment to shoot properly spaced and leveled photographs to stitch them later. I love the way this photograph came out, I hope you do to!
Thanks for looking! Please preview individual areas of the image for quality. This can be printed in large format since it's such a high resolution file.

Great composition with the interstate leading you through the picture to the skyline. This is one of the better skyline pictures I've seen.
