Description
"Mission Nuestra Seora de la Pursima Concepcin de Acua" or "Mission of Our Lady of the Most Pure Conception of Acua" was established in 1716 and it served to convert the Pajalat Native Americans by Franciscan friars. It was the location of one of the first battles of the Texas Revolution in 1835. On April of 1970 it was designated a National Historical Landmark.
This story of how I shot this 7-image panorama is the following: I was staying in a hotel close to Downtown and my main mission (pun intended!) was to photograph the wildflowers that were blooming southeast of San Antonio, but since the weather was not cooperating, it occurred to me that I would shoot this panorama. The mission was located only three miles from my hotel, and the shooting time was the most important factor; it had to be during the early civil twilight hour, roughly thirty minutes before sunrise, in order for the luminosity of the sky to match that of the building and trees. This panorama can be printed large, and I have enabled the zoom in preview so you can appreciated the quality. Thanks for looking.
