Description
Behold the magnificent array of Virginia Live Oaks in the aptly name "Oak Alley Plantation", located in Vacherie, Louisiana, roughly an hour west from New Orleans on Highway 18, which runs parallel to the Mississippi River. The Bon Sejour Plantation, as it was originally named back in 1830, was established to grow sugar cane by a Valcour Aime, AKA the "King of Sugar", one of the wealthiest man in the South back then.
I've always seen images of this stunning place on movies and shows, and I thought that maybe some day I needed to drive the 300 miles east and just do it! The opportunity presented itself on my way back from New Orleans to Houston. Not being content with a regular format photograph, I wanted to capture the impressive 300-year old oaks, so I pulled my panoramic gear and fired away. Thanks for looking. FAA watermark WILL NOT show up on final printed artwork.
