Description
I woke up in the dark of night to make the 1/2 hour drive from our house in Canyon Lake to New Braunfels. I wanted to photograph around the Gruene Historic District without any parked cars, and try to capture some car light trails in front of buildings as a way to add some dynamism and foreground interest to the images.

This Historical Marker is located just across from Gruene Hall, in Gruene. The building was built in 1903 by Henry D. Gruene as a place where tenant farmers could buy their wares and do business. Today, Gruene Antique Company encompasses the large center room of the building which once held the dry goods for sale, and the east wing which houses Gruene’s original bank vault. Gruene Antique Company offers 6,500 sq. ft. of antiques, collectibles, gifts and decor in a stunning Texas Landmark Building. In business since 1986, this large antique mall is a popular destination for antiquers and browsers alike. Please click on the link below for a virtual tour of the Gruene Antique Company.
