This was my first time climbing the scenic overlook on the east side of the Capital of Texas Highway, facing the Pennybacker Bridge and the sunset. Early in the afternoon, we had been hiking at Barton Creek Greenbelt 15 minutes to the south trying to look for some interesting compositions at Twin Falls and Sculpture Falls, but it had been a dry spring and there wasn't much water flowing. The thought of heading to this overlook crossed my mind then and it occurred to me it wouldn't be a wasted evening if we could rush to this landmark and try some long exposures with the setting sun. We made it just in time for some colors in the sky! Most people choose the overlook opposite this vantage point, not shown here, but it was too crowded that night and I had made images from there before. Thanks for looking.
