Rain completely transforms the desert landscape of Enchanted Rock State Natural Area. Ephemeral vernal pools are created on top of the rock, tiny ecosystems that support fairy shrimp until all moisture disappears when dry conditions come back. In this occasion we took the Summit Trail to see the full moon rise from above, and we took advantage of the golden hour light before twilight. Thanks for looking!
