Artist's Description
How can a photographer show how majestic certain place or vista is? Several tools are at our disposal, especially ultra wide angle lenses, which can include much more in their field of view than a regular wide angle lens. In the case of this photograph, I had a different vision as I as arriving at this place. I saw the mammatus clouds moving slowly above us, and how fiercely the maples were expressing themselves and I became ambitious about what I wanted to convey. The sun was peaking behind the limestone canyon, to the left of the image, so I had to use a graduated neutral density filter to "tame" the sky without it appearing blown out on the image.
I digress anyways, as I wanted to tell you that I also have at my disposal a panoramic bracket, which lets me shoot several images and stitch them together in post-production.
