As described in my Artist Statement, I adhered to the truth that "If God gives you lemons, make lemonade" in the making of this and all my photographs. I say this because there were several factors that I personally thought were against me while creating this scene. That, however, is the beauty of it all; it's personal, and you, the viewer or collector, can admire it for what it is!
This view was captured on Wednesday January 15th at around 6:00 PM. I made the 146 mile drive from West Houston at 1:30 PM, arrived at 4 and hung around the area for an hour while the shadows grew longer...
I have an application on my smartphone that tells me the position of celestial objects, sunrise, moonrise times, etc, so I knew exactly where to stand to photograph this. It is actually a panoramic image composed of 5 photographs.
