Description
On my first day in San Francisco, I woke up at 5:00 AM thinking I was going to be able to capture the lights of the Point Bonita Lighthouse at twilight. Visualizing the shot in my head, I made my way across the Golden Gate Bridge encountering a thick fog bank as I was making my way up Conzelman Road in the Marin Headlands. I realized that I wasn't going to get what I wanted, so I prayed to God and said that I was going to make the best out of the situation. Parking my car at the Point Bonita parking lot with my GPS on one hand, I starting hiking the wet trails above the rocky cliffs to the north of the lighthouse. Passing by Battery Mendell, I realized that the lighthouse light was out, so I needed to wait until there was enough light in the sky to make my image. I decided to screw a neutral density filter to the lens to up the drama and to show the whimsical movement of waves and foam. Thanks for looking. FAA watermark WILL NOT show on final printed image.
