Description
The North Rim of the Grand Canyon sits on the edge of the Kaibab Plateau, and it is a very remote area enjoying less tourist activity. It is only accessed by State Highway 67, which winds 42 miles in a North to South direction from Jacob Lake, Az, at the intersection of US Hwy 89A. This is, then, my kind of place for photographing, relaxation, and contemplation.
Cape Royal is one of the few isolated scenic overlooks of this area, and during Monsoon Season, (July through September), great cloud formations can be seen hovering over the deep canyons. In this case I waited until everybody had left to have all this view to myself, (which then it's made yours to enjoy!) A one minute exposure help the camera gather enough light and show the slight movement of the clouds.
Enjoy, and thank you so much for looking. As usual, comments, faves, and shares are highly appreciated! Thank you!
